Smoothie is a refreshing drink that quickly substitutes a meal, mostly breakfast many a times. Once you get your morning power packed nutrients in the form of this smoothie drink, its difficult to start your day any less energised. Green smoothies are one of my favourites as it packs a lot of nutrients in the form of herbs and vegetables or fruits with very less of natural sugar content in these.
Some of the common ingredients used are Bananas, Cucumbers, Avocados, Spinach etc. They are usually rich in antioxidant content and also helps to keep us fuller for long. Also it helps to give a glow to the skin and aids in digestion as well keeping you less bloated.
Kale or Spinach is something I add very frequently to smoothies. I find smoothies as the easiest way to get these super nutrients into the body. Also cucumbers are another of my favourite with great hydration qualities. Avocado adds a lot of richness to the smoothie giving it a creamy texture. Mint and Parsley can be used as herbs which give a nice punch to the smoothie. Bananas or apples can be added for the bulk of the smoothie. Chia seeds are added as its nutrient packed as well as it provides a thicker consistency to the smoothie on adding it to the mixture. Pink Salt is added as it provides electrolytes and nutrients.
